Chorus Auditions: Requirements

Male singers, representing all vocal ranges and ages, are especially needed. Adult applicants require a rudimentary working ability to read music and experience singing. Previous stage experience and foreign language study are desirable, but are not a necessity. Teenagers, ages 17 to 19, who have some vocal experience singing may also apply.  Prior experience includes performing with a school, choir, or another performing group or organization.

The audition consists of singing five note scales. In particular, the audition process assesses and determines each singer’s range and vocal category. Also, applicants may bring a short song to perform at the audition.  In addition, vocalists submit a completed application  to Chorus Coordinator Mary Ellen Rohon.  Singers invited to join the chorus pay a nominal fee of $60 to cover costs for the production’s musical score, costumes, and related expenses.
