Artistic Director Lucine Amara announces vocalists accepted to the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera’s 29th Annual International Vocal Competition may attend free master classes.  The competition, open to vocalists of all ages worldwide, offers a free master class to all applicants accepted to sing in the preliminary auditions. Finalists selected to perform in the vocal competition attend three four-hour free master classes.

Free Master Classes

Vocalists receive professional instruction from operatic leaders in the field. Ms. Amara, a Metropolitan Opera legend, and Verismo Opera’s Stage Director/General Manager, Canadian soprano Evelyn La Quaif, present the free master classes.  These experts provide the artists with direction on deportment, language, style and presentation at auditions.

“Vocal competitions give singers the opportunity to experience performing at the highest level of intensity. The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera’s annual vocal competition’s free master classes offer singers a deeper knowledge of their art from professionals in the business,” said Amara, who performed at the Metropolitan Opera for 41 years with opera houses and symphonies throughout the world.
