Has been associated with many cultural organizations since his departure from his Italian birthplace of Mola di Bari. He was involved with many companies in the tri-state area, the longest of his tenures was 14 years as Principal Stage Director and Set Designer with Regina Opera, Brooklyn. In addition to his architectural studies at the State University of Bari, a young Mr. Simone studied voice and piano with maestro Giuseppe Sasso in Italy and became well known in the U.S. for his portrayal of almost every tenor supporting role in the standard Italian and French repertoire. Mr. Simone has worked with such luminaries as Tito Gobbi, Mario Sereni, Gina Cigna, Eugenio Fernandi including Met conductors Ignace Strasfogel and Richard Woitach. In 1978 he joined the Verismo Productions in New York, and in 1989 he co-founded the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera. Mr. Simone is a proud member of the Volunteer Chorus.
